The first IPA brewed in Matuška Brewery combines Czech and American hops. The IPA kind of beer comes from the 19th century England. The East India Company exported beer to India, where England had its colonies, and because the beer had to survive the long trip, it was being made stronger and hoppier. Hops help protect the beer from bacteria. For our Raptor, we used a combination of Czech, English and American ingredients while using our brewing process.

The Matuška Brewery was founded on April 13th, 2009, which was an Easter Monday. The very first batch was brewed on this day and the beer was our special dark lager beer. The brewery falls in the mini-brewery category and it was founded by brewmaster Martin Matuška, who has been working in the beer industry since 1981.
